Use of 2-ton Electric Forklift

The core of operating a 2-ton electric forklift lies in safe operation and regular maintenance. It is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures while monitoring the status of the battery and core components.

I. Pre-Operation Inspection (Key Steps)

A thorough inspection must be completed before use to eliminate potential safety hazards, covering 3 main aspects:
  • Battery Inspection: Ensure the battery has sufficient power and the electrolyte level is normal (for lead-acid batteries). Check that the battery connecting wires are free from looseness and corrosion.
  • Vehicle Condition: Inspect the tire pressure and wear, the responsiveness of the braking and steering systems, and the functionality of lights and horns.
  • Operating Components: Test the smoothness of the fork lifting and tilting functions. Ensure the control levers have no jamming issues and the seat belt is intact.

II. Core Operating Procedures

Operations must follow a fixed sequence to prevent accidents caused by incorrect operation:
  1. Start-Up: Insert the key to power on, confirm the instrument panel displays normally, release the handbrake, and slowly press the accelerator pedal to start the vehicle.
  2. Driving: Maintain a low speed during driving (≤10 km/h when unloaded, ≤5 km/h when loaded). Slow down when turning and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns. Pay attention to surrounding personnel and sound the horn for warning if necessary.
  3. Operation (Forking/Stacking Goods):
    • When forking goods, adjust the fork spacing to match the width of the goods. Lower the forks to the minimum height and slowly insert them into the bottom of the goods.
    • When lifting goods, first lift them slightly (10-20 cm). Only raise them further after confirming stability. Overloading is prohibited (maximum load must not exceed 2 tons).
    • When stacking goods, slowly adjust the fork height and angle to ensure the goods are placed stably, then slowly pull out the forks.
  4. Shut-Down: Park the vehicle on a flat area, lower the forks to the ground, engage the handbrake, turn off the power, and remove the key.

III. Daily Maintenance and Precautions

Battery Maintenance

  • Charge the battery as needed and avoid deep discharge (charge before the power drops below 20%). Keep the area ventilated during charging and prohibit smoking while charging.
  • Regularly clean the battery surface to prevent dust or electrolyte leakage from corroding components.

Regular Inspection

  • Check the brake fluid and hydraulic oil levels weekly.
  • Check the tightness of the motor and controller wiring monthly.
  • Conduct a comprehensive maintenance (such as filter replacement and bearing lubrication) quarterly.

Safety Taboos

  • Prohibit carrying passengers during operation.
  • Prohibit long-term parking on ramps.
  • Prohibit standing under the forks when they are lifted.
  • Prohibit improper operation in humid or flammable environments.
