How to distinguish concrete mixers

Concrete mixers can be distinguished from multiple dimensions, and different types have obvious differences in structure, function and applicable scenarios:

Concrete mixers

From the perspective of mixing principle, they can be divided into gravity type and forced type. The mixing drum of the gravity mixer rotates, and the blades inside the drum lift the materials to a certain height, then the materials fall freely by gravity to achieve mixing. It is suitable for mixing plastic concrete with good fluidity, such as the mixing of ordinary concrete used in civil construction. The forced mixer, on the other hand, forcibly shears, extrudes and turns over the materials through the high-speed rotating mixing blades in the drum. It can effectively mix dry-hard concrete, lightweight aggregate concrete, etc., and is more common in scenarios with high requirements for concrete strength, such as prefabricated component factories and water conservancy projects.
According to the structural form, there are two types: fixed and mobile. Fixed mixers are usually installed on a fixed foundation, with a larger volume and larger mixing capacity, suitable for occasions with large engineering quantities and fixed sites, such as mixing stations in large construction sites, which mostly use this type. Mobile mixers are equipped with tires or crawlers at the bottom, which can move flexibly and can be transferred at any time with the change of construction sites. They are more suitable for small construction sites, road maintenance and other situations that require frequent changes of operation positions.
In addition, they can also be distinguished according to the mixing capacity, including small, medium and large mixers. The mixing capacity of small mixers is generally below 500L, which is often used for small-batch concrete needs such as home decoration and small-scale repairs; the capacity of medium mixers is between 500 - 2000L, suitable for small and medium-sized construction projects; the capacity of large mixers exceeds 2000L, mainly used in large-scale engineering projects, which can meet the continuous supply of a large amount of concrete.
Through these different distinguishing standards, we can more clearly understand the characteristics of various concrete mixers, so as to make a suitable choice according to actual needs.
